On Oct 30, 2018 a small geocaching miracle occurred. Six active local geocachers placed letterboxes to be published all that day. This would coincide with an event later that day. The reason? To celebrate Saves getting 1,000 finds. Since Saves has placed milestone tribute caches, it was time for us to step it up! My involvement began around the time Saves was close to 1,000. The original idea was to get to the milestone at an event we were hosting in Salem. The night before we were tired, hungry and getting some DNFs. But nope I pushed until Saves got to 999. I immediately got - ukipiper, nessieboombatz, scheibilicous, lookin4secrets on board. Faking reality stepped way up placing his first cache for this letterboxing day. The event cache was a rouse to throw off suspicion- you wouldn’t expect an entire series to come out in one day for you, especially if there is an event!
The entire crew blew it out of the park ( except me; but to be fair I had to hide from the honoree who I share close quarters with!) I managed to keep it under wraps for over a month. But really, all that would be for nothing without the help of this amazing group! The caches are all must finds in my humble opinion ( once again, not mine but good news- this cache is a lot better!!) and wow did we surprise Saves!
So a cache to commemorate the events of October 30, 2018 and the hard work before it! Thank you so much to everyone involved for your hard work, time, effort, money spent on materials and also not spilling the beans! We may not be a huge group but we are strong. You guys are awesome, thank you all so much!
