3 years ago today, someone startled me by knocking on my car window while I was preparing to grab an FTF. My GPS wasn't working, so she offered to lend me hers. Little did either of us know that we had discovered our geo-twin...
What makes us geotwins? Well, we have the same caching style, we are both directionally challenged, we both require coffee in order to function at geocaching, we make lists upon lists with colour-coding and maps and plans A, B, C, and D for geocaching adventures, we often text each other the same thing at the same time, and even plan to go caching with our significant others without talking to each other, and end up in the exact same place at the same time looking for the same caches...This particular paragraph is not part of the puzzle
Non-exhaustive list of other twin-like experiences:
⚿- We both won the same trackable in an online contest at the exact same time
- She retrieved a long lost TB of mine that just happened to show up in a cache she had been planning to go to anyway
- We both gave each other a geocoin to celebrate completing our 366 grid... without previously talking about it
- We are both fond of saying coffee before caching and our brains don't work well in the morning (or afternoon or evening...) otherwise, and even have a coin to celebrate that!
- Had the same exact number of steps on the same day at the same time
- Placed puzzle caches on our way to a puzzle solving event
- At ONE point we both had 49 Challenges that we didn't yet qualify for
- She asked if I had gone swimming in the lake at the exact same TIME I was looking up a pool to go to because of the weather
- Looked at various caches separately from each other and went through the same thinking process (google street view, look for a PADdle put in, see who'd done the cache before, examined whether the area was private property...)
- Both jokingly messaged each other at the exact same time about how a particular cacher was likely already on his way to some new FTFs
- I messaged her about filling in her D/T grid at the exact same time she was thinking about it while doing dishes
- I messaged her about seeing some cool birds at the same second she was going to message me if I had had any good bird sightings that day
- Both started a bookmark for the Giga and each only had "Ancient Lake" on it
- We both had malfunctioning computers at the same time while trying to solve a puzzle once
- She messaged me asking if I needed her to pick up hot chocolate for an event... at the same moment I was about to ask her if she could do so...
-We both brought a turquoise top and grey pants to sleep in, and the exact same brand of turquoise quick-dry towel when we went to Geowoodstock
- We tend to solve puzzles the exact same way more often than not, and message each other the same thing at the same time. We even make the exact same math mistakes sometimes! This happens All. The. Time. Too many individual instances to count as I look back through our message history...⚿
