Geocache Description:

As many know Lichee is Chinese.
Last year we gathered to share the occasion and again this year she is in China with her family to celebrate the Chinese New Year, which falls on the 5th February this year. So to honour the occasion I am hosting a flash event at an appropriate location here.

This year is special as we have been granted the entry visa so next year she will be here to celebrate with us.

The Chinese Calendar
The solar year, which is the basis of the Gregorian calendar used around the world, is a bit more than 365 days long. The traditional Chinese calendar, which determines the date of the Lunar New Year, is lunisolar, which means it's based on the cycle of the moon as well as on Earth's course around the sun.
Determining the date of Chinese New Year requires some complicated calculations. In most cases, it falls on the second new moon after the winter solstice. In the Gregorian calendar, the solstice is around Dec. 21. That's why Chinese New Year typically occurs in late January or during one of the first three weeks of February.

The event is outside  the Chinese take away in Amesbury, starting at 6.30pm ending at 7.00pm.

This seems a very appropriate location and there will certainly be photo opportunities outside the restraunt.

As a tribute try to bring something Chinese, white goods will not be acceptable so no fridges etc please.
