Geocache Description:

Mad Marc's Castle is a sturdy, hand-built structure consisting mostly of scrap concrete and rebar. It was built during the artistic heyday of the Albany Bulb, during the 1980s and 1990s.

The Albany Bulb is a landfill that was used as a parking lot and then as a place to dispose construction debris between 1939 and 1983. After environmental efforts put an end to dumping more debris on the Bulb, a homeless encampment formed and many residents created artistic structures out of the available materials. Mad Marc was one of these artists and created the largest of the structures, Mad Marc's Castle.

This cache is placed on the beach directly below Mad Marc's Castle. Watch your step! Some of the rocks are loose.
