It's a Dog's Life Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Hello,
During a routine cache page audit, it was discovered that your cache apparently no longer
exists and/or your page has been disabled for an extended period of time. The disable feature is meant to be used only as a temporary measure to alert cachers to a potential problem that will soon be corrected..
As such we will be archiving your cache. If you wish to replace the cache at some point, just email me with the cache name, and waypoint ID and we will unarchive it for you.

Thanks.

Geocache Description:

I've made a minor adjustment to the coordinates as of September 2, now that I have my GPS set to the right datum. Now that the coordinates are hopefully more accurate, I've also deleted one of the clues!

This is one of Chinook's favorite places to go for a walk, because he and Holly get to meet lots of other dogs and people. It is one of several leash-free areas in Guelph, so if you don't like dogs, it might not be the cache for you.

Note that if you are bringing your dog, there are some wet areas (creeks, ponds, ditches) that dogs can get into if they are so inclined (like ours), and by late summer they can get pretty stinky. The creek by the parking lot is the cleanest of the lot, and can be used to rinse off your pet.

Parking is available at the end of a dead-end road that parallels the Hanlon Expressway, at N43 30.274, W80 13.877. From the parking area, you can stick to the open trails (longer - over 1 km - but much easier), or you can try some of the trails through the bush (shorter, but lots of roots, criss-crossing paths).

The cache is in a small flat rubbermaid-like container (about 5" by 9" by 1.5") with a clear bottom and a yellow lid with a happy face on it. At the time of placing, the cache contained:

- a log book and pencil
- "Clyde" the travel bug
- a laser pointer
- a Y2K Emergency Lighter
- a bouncy ball
- bubble bath
- a toonie
- office products in honour of Back to School (binder clip, box of paper clips, tape, post-it notes)
- a 2002 graduation lapel pin
