Geocache Description:

The Williamson Valley Road Series is a Friends of Morgan Ranch Nature Park history project. Even numbered caches are on the E side of the Rd & odd on the W for 44 mi. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WORK 1 SIDE OF THE ROAD AT A TIME. Please pick up trash so the neighborhood trash-pickers are not drawn to the location.

MINT VALLEY SCHOOL
Mint Valley School located at the present-day Old Stage Road. Albert Stringfield built the school when the Mint Valley School District No. 20 was formed in 1884. There were a number of teachers, including Albert’s sisters Vada and Alice. The rolls included their nieces and nephews Lon, Jim, Hazel, Ethel, Agnes (Teddy) and twins Bertha and Bernice (Jack). Agnes was spanked by her father for teasing her teacher, Miss Lund, about wearing a black-and-white hat on her flaming red hair. Ethel was severely burned in a Christmas party accident. The district lapsed in 1918 and was absorbed by Granite Mountain District.
