Alas, the State Park closed the Coe Lakeview Zone and forced the archive of all the caches in that area. So the ammo box formally known as GC2YFPJ has been moved to this new location.
Whenever I end up in Kelly Lake, I like to take the "Cattle Master Trail" on the way back. It's not listed on the Coe map, but (now) shows up on open source maps, including the one this site uses. When I placed the cache, the route had periodic ribbons along the way, making it almost too easy. One end of the trail starts on Wasno Road; the other starts at a vague junction around the SE end of Kelly Lake. This part is less distinct because Kelly Lake itself expands seasonally. When I placed the cache, it was after many winter rains, so put a coordinate where I was able to exit that day. It should work most of the year. But, if you want to make your life easier, start off Wasno Road and you'll eventually make your way down to the lake. If the crossing looks too watery, keep going right until you reach a narrow portion of the namesake creek that feeds the lake.
The cache location is midway along the trail, with the goal of encouraging people to do the whole trail. The cache is just far enough off the trail that people won't see it, and bolstered by a little tree to prevent it from rolling down the hill.
