Dieser Cache führt euch zu einem Baudenkmal, das im Strietwald etwas abseits der üblichen Pfade liegt. Der ein oder andere ist hier vielleicht aber schon mal vorbei gekommen oder hat es ausgeschildert gesehen.
Es handelt sich hier um ein Sandsteinkreuz, dass an einen tot aufgefunden Aschaffenburger Bürger erinnert. Das Bayerische Landesamt für Denkmalpflege führt es unter der Aktennummer D-6-61-000-344.
Vom Parkplatz aus erreicht ihr das Kreuz, wenn ihr den mittleren Hauptweg in den Wald nehmt. Nachdem ihr den Teich passiert habt, geht ein Weg nach rechts ab (siehe Wegpunkt). Wenn der Weg sich gabelt, haltet euch links. Folgt diesem Weg bis zum Kreuz. Das Weg liegt auf dem Welzbacher-Weg, der mit einem schwarzen W auf weißem Grund markiert ist.
Das Kreuz ist teilweise verfallen, was man von der Inschrift noch entziffern kann ist folgendes (wer mehr entziffern kann oder genaueres weiß sage bitte Bescheid):

Anscheinend wurde also im Jahr 1681 ein Aschaffenburger Schumacher namens Borer, Börer erstochen und an dieser Stelle aufgefunden.
Der Cache befindet sich unweit des Kreuzes in direkter Wegnähe. Er ist nicht direkt am Kreuz!

This cache leads you to a historic moment in the borough of Strietwald, which lies off the beaten track. Of course, you might have come here before or have seen it signposted around the area.
The momument is a cross made of sandstone that was errected to commemorate the death of an Aschaffenburg citizen. The Bavarian State Office for Monument Protection (Bayerisches Landesamt für Denkmalpflege) indexes the monument with reference number D-6-61-000-344.
The engraving is hard to decipher, apparently it tells of an Aschaffenburg citizen that was stabbed in 1681 and found at this location (for the German engraving see above).
From the parking spot, follow the middle main track into the forest. After passing a pond, follow the way that branches off to the right. When you reach a fork, bear left and follow the way until you reach the monument.
The monument lies on the Welzbacher-Weg, which is marked with a black on white W.
The cache is not on the cross but in direct vicinity and very close to the track.
