This cache is located in the Allegheny National Forest. Cache is just a short distance off the Hunters Ridge Hiking Trail in Chapman State Park ~ a wonderful area for many recreation activities. Parking and maps are available at the Chapman State Park Office. This well marked hiking trail is marked by yellow paint blazes on trees.
Suggestion for a short trip and enjoyable hike: Begin at Trailhead #1 waypoint and do an *out and back* hike for the cache. Approximately half a mile, round trip.
Suggestion for a longer hike for the adventurous individual: Look at the Park Map, hike the *outer loop* created by connecting theses trails. Begin at Hunters Ridge Trailhead #1 waypoint, hike Hunters Ridge Trail, to Adams Run Trail, to the State Game Lands Road, to the Lowlands Trail, to the Nature Trail, to the Lumber Trail (short distance), to the Park Road, to Penny Run Trail, to the Park Road back to your vehicle parked at the Park Office, parking coordinate provided. There are some caches to hunt along the way. Approximately 6.1 miles, awesome hike thru varied terrain. My favorite here ~ in any season!
