Le site d’Annegray restera occupé par des moines et deviendra en 1144 un prieuré, jusqu’en 1790, date de sa fermeture et de l’abandon puis du pillage du site dont les pierres furent utilisées pour les constructions avoisinantes. Le site tomba alors dans l’oubli jusqu’en 1924.
La renaissance d’Annegray
Dans les années 1920, le nouveau curé de Luxeuil, le chanoine Henri Thiébaut effectue des recherches pour déterminer l’emplacement du monastère St 
Jean Baptiste d’Annegray. La tradition orale des habitants le situe sur le monticule qui a servi de cimetière à la commune de la Voivre au XIXe siècle. Le chanoine achète petit à petit des terrains et fait ériger une croix en 1928.
Le Dr Gilles Cugnier achète le terrain en 1957 où se trouvait un bâtiment ancien, peut être une dépendance du cimetière, reconvertie au XIXe siècle en un usage agricole. Il choisit de lui redonner un usage religieux. Divers matériaux anciens, provenant pour la plupart du prieuré et réemployés dans des maisons voisines, ont été utilisés pour cette restauration. La chapelle fut inaugurée en 1959.
En 2008 le docteur Gilles Cugnier fit don des terrains et de la chapelle d’Annegray à l’association des Amis de Saint Colomban qui entretient le site depuis plusieurs années.

He chose to give it back a religious use. Various ancient materials, mostly from the priory and reused in neighbouring houses, were used for this restoration. The chapel was inaugurated in 1959.
