Geocache Description:

This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

.

A CHURCH in Klemzig built more than 80 years ago has hit the property market for the first time and is expected to fetch more than $1 million. The Uniting Church at 85 OG Rd was built in 1929 and was used up until January 2018 when the congregation disbanded.

It was owned by Uniting Church, and the area is zoned residential, and the property is listed for $1.2 million.

The Agent said the church’s location was one if its best features. “It’s a lovely 2000sq m of land right on OG Rd,”

“It’s a red brick character church and it is walking distance to the O-Bahn.

The church opened on October 5, 1929 as Gaza Methodist church on land donated by Charles Pitt. The building cost £1250 and was big enough to hold 300 churchgoers, according to a story in The Advertiser at the time. “The seats are made of Pacific maple, and the floor of Oregon pine,” the article read. It became the Uniting Church in 1977.

At the time of publishing this cache, the building was undergoing renovations, and the hall next door had been demolished and the land subdivided for sale.

B recalls attending events at this church many years ago. G has never been inside. It will be interesting to see how this property develops.

At the listed coordinates you will see two foundation stones, one to the north and one to the south of the central door.

Northern stone
         XXXX XXXXX
YYY YYYY YY YYY YYYYY YY YYY
            ZZ
     ?. ?? ?????. ???
      MMMM Ath BCDE

Southern Stone
         XXXX XXXXX
YYY YYYY YY YYY YYYYY YY YYY
             ZZ
     ?. ??????????. ???
       MMMM Ath BCDE

To find the cache complete the following coordinate calculations with information gathered at the listed coordinates.

F is the number of A’s in the lines of text designated with XYZ? On the southern stone

G is the number of J’s in the lines of text designated with XYZ? On the northern stone

H is the number of I’s in the lines of text designated with XYZ?  On the southern stone

S34 53.B(A-D)A E138 38.FGH

Decimal Minutes Checksum = 11 + 7 = 18

The following is an alternate calculation if you cannot see the two foundation stones due to the fence that has been recently constructed. You may be able to see the stones in between the spaces in the fence pales. Or you might be able to use your phone camera somehow.

Gather the following information.

Number of small vents above the windows facing Bray Avenue = A

No of Door frames facing OG Road =B

Number of Windows facing OG Road = D

Number of Large Fence panels facing OG Road = F

Number of Windows facing OG Road Minus the number of small vents facing OG road. = G

Number of Window frames facing Bray Avenue = H
