Geocache Description:

A standard traditional nano cache located at Burnage station. Fairly muggle heavy area and can suffer from heavy traffic during peak times. Most people could park up on the side of the road, so can be used for a cache and dash.

About SideTracked Caches

This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website

About Burnage Station

Note that the station no longer has buidlings on either side - only the ticket office remains on the side in to Manhester. Others heading towards Crewe will either have to buy a ticket on the train, at the new ticket machine or via the mobile app.

SideTracked - Burnage

Burnage railway station is a railway station in south Manchester, England, in the suburb of Burnage on the Styal Line. The station is served by Manchester – Crewe Northern stopping services to Manchester Airport. It caters mainly for commuter traffic, being electrified at 25 kV AC overhead, and is used by EMU traffic.

There is a basic twice-hourly service from the station on weekdays and Saturdays provided by Northern - one per hour each way between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe via Piccadilly and Manchester Airport and a second between the Airport and Preston via Bolton. The former is worked by Class 319 or Class 323 EMUs and the latter by class 150 or 156 diesel multiple units. Some additional trains stop at peak times and in the evenings, including a small number of TransPennine Express trains toward Sheffield and Cleethorpes.[1]

On Sundays, there is a basic hourly service each way, to Wilmslow via the Airport southbound and to Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street northbound.
