Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the grounds between the Wingham Brush Nature Reserve and the Manning River. There is plenty of parking available and it’s an easy walk to the cache for the most part. The last few meters are on quite a steep slope and there are some spiky bushes and vines and whatnot. You’ll find muggles in the area most of the time as it’s quite a popular spot but the cache is far enough away from the picnic tables that you should be able to search without drawing undue attention to yourself.

This is a lovely place to go for a picnic and a swim in the river. There are apparently some bull sharks but I’ve seen plenty of children swimming there and they all seem to emerge with their limbs intact. Just make sure there are people further out than you so they will get eaten first. There are barbecues and covered areas with tables or you could just spread a rug out under a tree. The picnic area has been known to attract the odd carload of bogans, but they are the family variety that will continually offer you and your children icy poles. Dogs are welcome here and many people bring them for a walk or a swim. You can even camp overnight for free.

While the cache is not located in the Wingham Brush nature reserve, it is quite close by and I recommend you go for a walk through it when you’re done. It’s quite lovely inside and there’s a nice boardwalk to separate you from the bats and turkeys and giant stinging trees. The Moreton Bay figs are amazing!

If you’re curious about the name of the cache, keep going up the slope towards the wire fence and you’ll see the wonders of the water treatment plant. What a sight to behold!
