Geocache Description:

We drive by this wildlife area quite often and noticed the immediate area didn't have caches, so time to change that! Placed on Grandpa's 75th birthday, Super Bowl Sunday, and just a beautiful winter day for exploring the wildlife area!

The cache itself isn't in the grassland part of the wildlife area, but you'll have a good view of it from the parking area.

While there is a lot of swampy land west of GZ, most of the year this should be fairly dry. Even after a wet spring, the cache is accessible. There can be muddy spots, but most of the time should be able to find a fairly dry path to the cache. Possible to find in winter, but the parking area is not always plowed, so use your best judgement.

Hunting is allowed in the Wildlife Area, so be aware of local hunting seasons and cache accordingly. Pheasant hunting is particularly popular at the Holland Wildlife Area.

Cattle grazing occurs during the growing season, so fences in the area may be electrified. You should not need to cross fencing to get to the cache.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Josh Martinez of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained at: http://dnr.wi.gov/files/PDF/forms/2500/2500-118.pdf
