Kidney Lake (Formerly Kathrine Lake) Traditional Cache

mtn-man: I agree with GeoScavenger. It seems that many people seem to be doing maintenance on this cache -- all except for the cache owner. I am going to archive this cache to open the area up for someone who can place a cache and take care of it properly.

Geocache Description:

Kathrine Lake campsite/float

On north Vancouver Island, head north down highway 19 until you get to the Port Alice turn off. Just past this turn off (200 meters past) Turn left (if heading north) on a logging road. Take the second and less used road. This road is called the Rupert 600 logging road. Head down there about 1500 meters. At that point you will see a road leading to the left, head down that for about 30 meters and you will be at Kathrine Lake. (This name doesn't appear on local maps and may even be called something else, if you know the name of this lake let me know) Once you are parked close to the lake the cache should be within 30 meters. Look for a blue rubber maid box
