Come join the Maryland Geocaching Society at the Cedar Haven Fishing Area for a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) Event on Saturday, April 13th at 10am. Posted coordinates will take you to parking, where everyone will meet up with the Park representative.

This is an excellent opportunity to give back to Mother Earth by picking up trash and helping with trail maintenance at this great Maryland park.  Attending this event will earn you a Spring 2019 CITO souvenir if you haven't already earned it.

You can earn a GC souvenir by attending this CITO event!

Cedar Haven Fishing Area is located in the southeastern corner of Prince George's County, adjacent to the town of Eagle Harbor where the Patuxent River is over a mile wide. Fishing is permitted along the shoreline. A Chesapeake Bay and Coastal Sport license is required and surf rods are recommended if you plan to do any fishing. After the CITO, you might enjoy other sites and activities in the general area.

Parking

Parking is available at the posted coordinates.  There is no fee to park or enter the Fishing Area.

What to bring

The park staff will supply trash bags, gloves, water, snacks, and possibly grabbers/pickers.

You may wish to consider bringing items such as gardening gloves, waterproof shoes (or old sturdy sneakers or knee boots), handi-grabbers, bug/tick spray, and plenty of drinking water.  Dress for the outdoors, of course.  There is a port-o-potty nearby.  If you intend to do any fishing, plan ahead to have your fishing license with you.
