Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Lower Swedish Cabin. This cabin was build between 1640 and 1650 by Swedish immigrants. It is thought to be one of the oldest remaining log cabins in the United States and is the oldest building in the state of Pennsylvania.

In the old days of caching, caches were put out to take you somewhere you wouldn't go otherwise or maybe see something you wouldn't have seen. The original cache here, "new" Scandinavian Trex, showed me this interesting location in 2007 and as I was driving in the area recently, I saw a sign for it and thought it would be a location worthy of a cache redo.

To find this cache:

Near the posted coordinates is an informational sign (NOT the historic marker). There is a phone number where they "may be able to open for weekday group visits". Use this number to get the coordinates with the formulas below:

N 39° 56.ABC W 75° 18.DEF

A = 1st digit plus 2nd
B = 5th digit
C = 2nd digit + 4th digit
D = B
E = 4th digit
F = C

The cache is less than 200 feet from the posted coordinates.
