Join Maine State Parks in battling invasive species! We will provide training in recognizing target species, as well as proper removal techniques. We will have the necessary tools (cutters and gloves), but if you have your own favorite pair please bring them along. Come for thirty minutes or all four hours -we’re opening early to accommodate those who may want to continue on with their day. Park admission is waived for participants, why not bring a lunch and enjoy the view?
It will be colder on the water than inland, please bring warm layers. Although we are scheduling to minimize risk from ticks, they are always a consideration in brush so long sleeves, preferably light colored, are recommended no matter what weather we have.
Find us at a table adjacent to the parking lot, in front of the old bunker. We will have Volunteer Forms to sign, necessary to participate. Event is friendly for all age groups, provided a guardian signs a waiver prior to or at the event. Leashed pets are welcome to join.
Questions? Need to arrange for a waiver ahead of time? Call the park at 207-799-5871. See www.maine.gov/twolights for general information.
