Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but there IS something very cool there. As you stand in this area, you are outside of the fence of the Adams Leek McKeen Cemetery. As you look around at your feet, it seems that, when someone fenced in the nearby cemetery, they forgot to include these stones. But that could not be further from the truth. You are standing in the middle of a different graveyard, one that lost its battle with time.

The ALM cemetery is an interesting place with a lot of history, but that is a story for another time....

While the ALM cemetery started its life as a private cemetery for the Leek family and was passed down to the Adams and McKeen families through the generations, this little cemetery was the Bridgeport Friends Meeting Cemetery. Buried here was a very interesting Friend names Lucy Evans. Her grave is unusually large and ornate for a simple Friends stone, but they may be because of her importance. She was the first wife of Jesse Evans who was the Iron Master at Martha Furnace. She was also an Elder at her Meeting. There are a few other memorable stones here as well, but at your feet is the mystery.

If you look at the ground near the coordinates, you will see a small simple stone with a first initial and a shortened surname along with a date (ABCD). While research has not turned up any info on this person, they hold some information for you in your search.

Here are your final North coords - N 39° 37.AB3'.

You can get your final West coordinates by taking the sum of the digits ABCD, doubling it and adding it to the posted west coordinates.

Have fun! There is a geocoin in the cache that hasn't seen the light of day in 9 years. I will transfer ownership to the FTF if desired!
