Welcome to Middle Creek Dam, the home of the Sarina Ski Club. This small sized water reservoir has completely dried up in the past, but when it does have water in it, and the blue/green algae isn’t bad, it’s a popular place for skiing, kayaking, birdwatching, fishing and for people just looking for a quiet leafy place for a picnic.
Come down and have a seat at the picnic table and gaze past the wood bbq to the dam beyond and just take in the serenity.
There are basic facilities here (picnic tables, wood bbq's and public toilet). Access is by road and is mainly sealed however there is approximately 2k's of dirt road right at the end. There is easy parking available however caravans would probably struggle.
Mobile phone reception is pretty much non-existent so its recommended to make a note of the cache details and co-ordinates just in case you cant get a signal.
This is North Queensland so always be on the lookout for snakes, spiders and cranky scrub turkeys!
Cache is a micro metal bison tube. Please BYO pen.
