Geocache Description
You are looking for a small plastic container with room for a couple of small swappables.
Location
The cache is hidden on Hoad hill in Ulverston and can be found close to the main pathway. This is a popular well visited area so please be discreet when seaching. Dog owners please be aware sheep graze on the land so dogs need to be kept on leads.
Motorbike and sidecar
Just off the main pathway that starts to climb the hill you can see a stone circle that marks a place known as the bandstand. Up until around the 1960s bands often assembled here to play for the entertainment of people walking by at the weedends. One of these stones used to delight small children who imagined it to be a motorbike and sidecar. This was shown to me by someone whos father brought him and his brother to play here as todders.
Can you find the Motorsbike and sidecar? If you need a hint count 8 stones down on the side nearest the tree!
The Monument
The 100ft high monument sitting atop Hoad hill was built in1850 to commemorate Sir John Barrow, an Ulverstonian who became second secretary to the Admiralty and a navel explorer. The momument it a replica of the Eddystone lighthouse and can be seen from miles around.
Congratulations to the Brown Teddies on first to find.
