Geocachers are a special group of people! We share so much about ourselves through the creation and placement of geocaches, often intended to share the joy of an event or the beauty of a place we have found. As we are a diverse people, so too do our caches display a diversity of size, difficulty, and challenge.
 
Geocaching.com has announced a special event called “Cache Carnival” meant to celebrate the diversity that is geocaching. The larger event runs from 25 March to 14 April and during this time, points can be earned for a number of activities, including attending events specifically adapted to join the Cache Carnival.
 
You are therefore invited to join us at Native Grill & Wings on 30 March from noon until 2 PM to celebrate our caching diversity, and maybe walk away a winner!
 
A winner of what? Well obviously a cache container contest! We want you to pull out all the stops, burn the midnight oil, put on those thinking caps and show our community what you can do. We will have three categories: Micro, small, and regular sizes as defined on geocaching.com. You will receive points for your ingenuity and the cache quality (how it might hold up to time and the environment based on the judgment of those attending the event. Since “Carnaval” is occurring in Rio de Janeiro in early March, bonus points may be awarded to cache containers that reflect aspects of this colorful event. For display purposes, no names or caching nicknames may be displayed with your cache container submission. It is, of course, expected that all presented containers will be placed and listed on geocaching.com shortly after the event.
