Geocaching HQ has announced a souvenir promotion beginning on March 25th and going through April 14th called "Cache Carnival". There are a total of 6 souvenirs that can be earned. Five by finding caches or attending events and a sixth by attending a HQ approved "Creation Celebration" event. Of course you have to log them too! This event has been approved by HQ for official "Creation Celebration" status. More information can be found at: Creation Celebration Info including how you can create an official Creation Celebration event.
This is an informal gathering for geocachers of all ages to meet other geocachers and talk about some of the memorable events you've attended.
What are some things that make them memorable?
Have you been to a Mega or Giga-Event?
Do you have plans to attend any out-of-town events in the future?
Do you like to stop for caches on the way to and from an event?
Have you attended a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) event? What makes for a good CITO?
If this is your first event you'll likely learn more about what makes a memorable event. Hopefully everyone will go away with some ideas for when you attend your next event and some tips if you want to host your own event.
Everyone is welcome whether they're new to geocaching or have been at it for several years. Please bring geocoins and travel bugs for retrieval or discovery. Trackable apparel is encouraged as well.
The location is at a beautiful park in Northwestern Rocklin. The park has off street parking, restrooms, and a covered area that we'll be meeting under. The event will happen rain or shine.
Coordinates for the entrance of the primary parking lot are also provided below. If the parking lot happens to be full there are also coordinates for an alternate parking lot.
I hope to see you all there!
