Geocache Description:

20 April 2019, 10:00 - 12:00

It's been a long cold winter and I'm looking forward to spring. Let's show our appreciation for all the enjoyment that the forest preserve district of Du Page has given us over the years by doing some brush clearing or trash pickup at Fullersburg Woods. If brush clearing isn't your thing, come on out and we'll put you to work picking up trash.

When: Saturday April 20, 2019 From 10:00AM to 12:00PM

Where: We'll assemble on the deck outside the Fullersburg Woods Visitor Center. There will be an orientation and safety talk conducted by the Dupage FPD. Should there be heavy rains or lightening the event will be canceled. You can check out the local weather forecast below and may contact Mike Swaney (Greenback) 630-664-3515 the day of the event for status should these conditions exist in your area.

Be Prepared: Our primary objective is to clear brush/invasive species in the forest preserve but even if you are picking up trash you need to be prepared.

  • Bring Work Gloves if you have them (we'll have a supply too)
  • Wear sturdy clothing - long sleeves, long pants & boots
  • Read and be prepared to sign a FPD Waiver
  • Read the FPD Safety Guidelines
Be uber prepared - Print the waiver and bring it already signed to help speed up the sign-in process. Participants under 18 year of age need to have the waiver signed by their parent or guardian in order to participate.

Supplies Provide: Mike Swaney (Greenback) will be providing; fruit, trail mix, donuts and bottled water. The Forest Preserve District of Dupage will provide all the tools needed plus they'll have a supply of work gloves.

Door Prizes: Following the CITO we'll have a small door prize drawing. Donations for the door prize drawing are welcome.

Weather Permitting: Should there be heavy rains or lightening in the area, the event will be canceled. You can check the local weather forecast below and may contact Mike Swaney (Greenback) 630-664-3515 the day of the event for status should these conditions exist in your area.
