This event has been granted status as an official "REGISTERED" Creation Celebration Event -- that means that you WILL earn the sixth special souvenir on your geocaching public profile during the Cache Carnival challenge by logging your attendance at this event.

Join us at Memorial Park in "The City Above the Clouds" for a one hour event on Saturday, April 6th during the "Cache Carnival" challenge to earn your special digital souvenir that can only be earned by attending a REGISTERED Creation Celebration Event. This one hour event will take place at one of the pavilions in Memorial Park; all are very close to each other but availability is first-come, first-served so if we are not at the listed coordinates, we will be somewhere within 100 feet or so, and we will be easy to spot as the park is very flat and open.

Your hosts, the 3 Williams Kidz geo-team, will have over a dozen different geocache containers on display, and will lead a discussion on placing a new geocache. The discussion will be applicable to new geocachers and experienced cachers as well, and cover topics such as:

What Difficulty, Terrain and Size is my new geocache
Appropriate containers
Good and bad hiding spots
Recommended container contents
Trackables
Kid-friendly caches
EVIL geocaches (purposely VERY hard to find)
"Lonely" caches (not found in a year or more)
GPS coordinates on the cache page are 2 dimensional -- placing a geocache on top of a parking garage, in a tunnel or other structure
Clear containers vs solid colored (such as the green ammo cans)
Why placing a cache near the airport or police station could be a BAD idea
Decoys
My cache is a puzzle with more than one stage -- is it a Mystery Cache (with the ? icon) or a multi-cache?
and very important -- what is not allowed in geocaches.

Discussion and lessons learned participation by all attendees is encouraged !

Also, any cachers willing to share stories of great (or not so great) caches that they have found would be greatly appreciated!

As with all 3 Williams Kidz events, there is NOTHING TO BUY, NOT EVEN RAFFLE TICKETS, but we will be giving away for FREE some geocaching stuff, to include at least a few containers so those winners can place a new cache, which is the theme of the Creation Celebration endeavor.
