Belle Vue Resevior is approached on foot via the pedestrian avenue known as Corporation Oaks . One entrance is on Cranmer Street and the other on Woodborough Road. The reservoir was built in 1851 and is hidden under an earthwork at the top of this hill.
Belle Vue recieves water from central Nottingham boreholes and the Derwent Valley open reservoirs. It is a stand-by 2.5-million-litre supply for Nottingham and was called upon during recent heatwaves when the city’s demand for water soared.
There is a great view of Nottingham City from here. Enjoy!
