Gelstert was een van die laaste twee van die oorspronklike +/- 20 visserbote wat by Jeffreysbaai bedrywig/ werksaam was. Die ander een was “Poormans friend”. Wat van laasgenoemde geword het, is onbekend. Vier bekende vissermanne wat op Gelstert gewerk het, Piet Hammond, beter bekend as “Stew Patat”, Joseph Perils, ook bekend as “Driebeen”. Esau Hammond, beter bekend as “??????” (gebore op 25 Desember), Victor Nel, beter bekend as “Kahn” en die kaptein. George”Ou la” Titus.
Teen 1994 het ‘n groep plaaslike inwoners, tesame met die Munisipaliteit begin om ?????? se restourasie te onderneem. Teen 2000 is die wrak van die strand verwyder en die boeg is gerestoureer.

Developments
