This cache is placed on the "Around the Mountains Cycle Trail"
Sadly there are no more trains crossing the Mataura River at this bridge. The original bridge was washed away in a flood many many years ago.
The only traffic crossing this nowadays is pedal powered, or foot power.
Upon crossing this bridge, you've got approx 12 kms to Kingston,and the shores of Lake Wakitipu ,or about 8kms to Garston ( NZ's most inland town).
If you cross quietly, you may be lucky to spot a nice fat brown trout lurking in the waters below.
