Monty Python is a British comedy troop who’s iconic series, Monty Python's Flying Circus, first aired in 1969. 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the show’s debut. This cache is one in a series honoring famous Python material, corresponding with appropriate land marks, in Casper.
Season 1, Episode 8, which first aired 7 December 1969, introduced the famous “ Dead Parrot Sketch.” In this vignette a conflict between disgruntled customer Mr Praline (played by Cleese) and a shopkeeper (Michael Palin), argue whether or not a recently purchased "Norwegian Blue" parrot is dead. It pokes fun at the many euphemisms for death used in British culture.
