GeoTour Stop #38: Barnes Park
Named in honor of the pioneer family that founded Madison, Nebraska, Barnes Park is a park everyone can enjoy. With two playgrounds, a swimming pool nearby, a campground equipped with BBQs, an arboretum, and a walking trail, there’s something everyone can experience at the historic Barnes Park.
Follow your GPSr to the posted coordinates. This is your starting point. From there, use the clues below to guide you to the cache:
Follow the trail through the arboretum until you come to the fork. Take the right leg and continue down the trail, around the bend, and up the hill. When you get to the top, look west to the cemetery. On the north side of the cemetery, there are two trees. That is where you will find the treasure.
