It's time to get to The Point.

We use them every day, but rarely know much history about where they came from or what they mean.

Find some info on "points" and use the info to get a smiley. (All research can be done through wikipedia)

Semi-Colon
The first printed semicolon was the work of the Italian printer Aldus Manutius the Elder in 1A94.

Decimal Point
The B2nd General Conference on Weights and Measures declared in 2003 that "the symbol for the decimal marker shall be either the point on the line or the comma on the line.”

Colon
The colon is a punctuation mark consisting of C equally sized dots centered on the same vertical line.

Ellipsis
Whether an ellipsis at the end of a sentence is three dots or if it needs a Dth dot to finish the sentence is a matter of debate; some guides advise it while some other style guides do not.

Exclamation Point
The exclamation mark did not have its own dedicated key on standard manual typewriters before the 1E70s.

Period
The full stop symbol derives from the Greek punctuation introduced by Aristophanes of Byzantium in the F century BC.
