A bird common to the parks and neighborhoods of Albuquerque.
One of the American rosefinches, the House Finch originated in the Southwest and Mexico but has spread over most of the continental United States and a bit into Canada. Males have reddish heads, necks, and shoulders. Females are brown, streaked on the front.
