“Preserving the Past” Series
Atlanta State Park is perhaps best known for its towering pines, lake access, and recreational activities. But did you know that this area is also rich in cultural history? The “Preserving the Past” Series contains five geocaches: ASP– Stuck in a Rut, ASP– a River Runs Through It, ASP– Swamp Fox of the Sulphur, ASP– A Pineywoods Paradise, ASP– Holding it Together
Things to Know Before You Go
- Atlanta State Park’s headquarters is open daily from 8AM-5PM. Day use visitors can remain in the park until 10PM.
- Park entrance fees are $3 per person ages 12 and older.
- Some geocaches are placed off-trail in areas deemed okay for public use by park staff. Please watch your step!
- You may see local wildlife such as deer, snakes, and herons. Come prepared for the experience but remember it is illegal to feed, attempt to capture, or otherwise annoy the animals.
- Please treat the park with respect. We ask that you refrain from littering.
