This marvelous Saguaro deserves a photo, so bring your camera. The fan shaped growth on the top of the cactus is called crested or cristate. This is somewhat rare and we are fortunate to have this one in our community. Scientists do not know what causes this. Some guesses are that it is a genetic mutation or perhaps freeze damage. Take a good look and you may see a smiling face on the crest. If the neighbor comes out, just say hello. We all appreciate this wonderful cactus! Do not get STUCK. There is no need to touch the cactus to find the nano tube.
The log is very tiny, so feel free to find the tube without signing if you wish. Just log online! Don't forget to replace the marker and please reinsert the tube! No rock collecting allowed. LOL
