Ruben's Birdhouse Traditional Cache

Bug Finders: Well, "Karen" strikes again.

For some, this was a community that respected the work of one man -as art, and a community enhancing project.

For another, it was nails in a tree, a violation of city bylaws - so a complaint was filed.

As of today, the community has reverted back to the boring mundane community conforming to the sanitized standards approved by the city.

This cache, 'Ruben's' Bird House' was enjoyed by 56% of all its visitors, leaving the map today, and taking 54 favourite point with it, after only 4 short years.

I reluctantly archive this cache, hoping that the memories of this hide live on in the hearts of many.

Thank you Ruben for your contribution to the community, you put the smile on many people's faces.

Welcome to Ruben's place!

Ruben has an interesting hobby, beautifying the community, one birdhouse at a time.

 

I first met Ruben, 2 years ago, when the Littlest BugFinder was playing soccer at the park just down the road.  I parked in front of Ruben's house, and saw him sitting out front.  Milli (the BugFinding Pooch) and I sparked up a conversation with Ruben, to ask about his interesting hobby.  Ruben was very excited to share his hobby with others, and gave me the okay to place a cache on his property - that was 2 years ago - but Ruben was losing interest in his hobby  

Well, two years later, I was driving through the community, and thought I would see what was left of Ruben's Creations.  Turns out, the hobby hasn't faded at all, but rather grown to include his community.  I decided it it was time to leave a cache here, and walked up to knock on Ruben's front door.  He remembered me, and gave me permission to place a cache at GZ.  

Take a drive through the area, and feel free to post photos of your favourite(s) creation's of Rubens.  If you see him out front, say hi to him, and thank him for allowing the placement of a geocache here.
