There's nothing like a walk in the woods to heal the body and soul. Shinrin-Yoku is forest bathing. And, for me at least, this is the essence of Geocaching. Wandering in the forest, bathing in its peace, wandering with little purpose except to relax (and maybe find a Geocache or two).
This cache is located in the woods near my home and is along a trail that I walk with regularity. There are two main approaches. The first is a steep climb from Legget Drive in Anmore. Park at the end of the cul-de-sac, pass a couple of barricades, and then start up a trail that parallels the power lines. After about 100 metres, take an obvious left turn, up over a log, and then continue up a steep hillside, cross two stream beds and, just before the third stream bed...you're close! The terrain rating is based on this approach.
The second approach involves hiking along the Academy Trail, turning uphill at waypoint 3 - the junction between Academy and Eagle Bluff trails - turning right at waypoint 2 - the junction between Eagle Bluff and Pinnacle Ridge trails just north of Buck Toe Bridge - and then contouring along the hillside past waypoint 1 until crossing a streambed near the GZ. This route will bring you past another geocache.
The trip may be done as a ~5 km circuit, starting at the end of Legget Drive, ascending to the cache, then continuing on to Eagle Bluff Trail and down to Academy Trail, then back south to Sunnyside Road and eventually back to Legget Drive.
