This cache is placed in the Canobolas Memorial Park, not in the school grounds. The park is a memorial to three local men, Arthur Plowman, Brian West and Russel West who were killed in WW1.
Canobolas Public School celebrated 150 years of education in the district in 2014. The school began in a woolshed 9 metres by 4 metres in 1864. The current building was built in 1878. Mr Reeves was a teacher here from 1973 until 1986. The school has now grown to over 100 students. This school is a community - the people, the teachers, the parents and the generations and generations of students who attended it.
It would be best to do this cache well away from school hours as the limited parking that is available is usually very busy. After school hours you can park beside the park or in front of the school.
If you wander over to the western edge of this park (and that is a very short wander), you have a nice view of Mount Canobolas.
