This is an easy walk from the Rails to Trails parking lot.
Just off highway 36 between Susanville and Westwood near the Susan River bridge is the Rails to trails parking lot (N. 40 23.799 W. 120 46.375) for the Bizz Johnson trail. Park here and walk to the Devil's Corral trail head. It is a short distance from here.
The refurbished (Aug. 9, 2004) Fernly & Lassen was in a coffee can containing the old log from the internet site, a new log book & pen, Giggles, hobby set, garden gloves, Tuff Tools, stapler, padlock and a ceramic cat. It has now (April 14, 2005) been refurbished with a new water tight container and new contents.
The Bizz Johnson trail was built on the 1913 Fernly & Lassen railroad bed which was constructed to carry timber products from Westwood and Susanville to market.
