Geocache Description:

13 April 2019, 09:30 - 10:30

Creation Celebration: Show, Tell, Swap

Saturday 13th April 2019

9:30am – 10:30am

There are so many different types of Geocache out there.  What makes a cool hide, a clever cache or a memorable find?

This event is about sharing ideas and swapping surplus resources.  Earn the 6th souvenir during the Creation Celebration by attending this event and spend the rest of your day caching or planning new hides!

Photo logs – before, during and after the event, please post photos of creative caches you have made or found (outside the Swindon area, if not your own, so we do not spoil local hides).

Display table – bring along caches you have made and are happy to show / explain how you made them.  One of our favourite homemade caches was originally a squeaky frog toy (GC7DVYC).

Swaps table – We’ve been to our local Scrapstore and picked up all kinds of containers and old toys that could be recycled into cool caches (see the event photos for some of the haul).   MrsG also upcycled an old camping chair bag into some camo bags.  If you have any surplus items that could help someone else make a cache, please bring them along for the swaps table and take something different home.  Surplus swag also welcome on the swaps table. NOTE: You are welcome to take items away even if you have nothing to swap.

All cachers, new and experienced are welcome.  You do not need to be planning to hide a cache to come along and enjoy the stories of others over a cup of tea/coffee and a slice of cake.  Don’t forget to bring along any trackables for discovering or moving on.

Emmanuel Church, High Street, Haydon Wick, SN25 1HU   We have used this venue before for GIFF events, although this time we have booked the small rear hall.  The venue request no dogs except assistance dogs, no smoking or vaping, no alcohol or drugs.  There is parking for 25 cars behind the building and disabled access.
