Geocache Description:

There's not too many swimming holes close by and this is somewhere I take my four legged geocaching friend regularly for a cross-country run and dip. This area connects onto an area known as "The Sands" where motorcyclists and 4WD enthusiasts frequently visit.  The piercing blue colour of the water here is an amazing contrast to the murky waters of the Grovesnor creek. Those that know how to get to the area either use it for recreation sports or bring flotation devices to swim in the water catchment.  An amazing sunset show can be viewed from the top of the hill with panoramic views of the race course and Moranbah countryside.
If your vehicle won't cope with off-road terrain, leave it by the road on Sarchedon Dr (opposite the Go Kart track and to the right of the industrial business) and take a walk up the rocky track - you'll see the cattle grid with an open access.  Keep following the tyre tracks up and alongside the fence line parallel to the mining camp/village - once you've reached the top, take a moment to enjoy the view before heading on down towards the swimming hole. You'll find the GC about 40m near the water entry point, amongst the deciduous trees alongside a small, yet extremely inclined dirt mound (definitely not for the 4WD to drive over).
