This is a series of geocaches which have been placed with the consent of the Duchy and at their request all caches have been placed no more than 3 meters from the footpath.
As they have allowed us to place these caches please be respectful of any guidance of the woods.
These caches are themed to The Gruffalo. Karen and I have worked as foster carers and in childminding and this book has been a favourite of all the children we have cared for.
If you decide to do all 6 caches you will be taken along a lovely circular walk through the woods of just over a mile.
During our time walking Amber (our dog) in these woods we have seen deer, squirrels, evidence of foxes and badgers, many varied birds and several different species of owls can be heard most evenings and mornings.
The caches are designed to be carried out in the order in which we meet the characters in the book and a few of the clues may reference the book.
Please enjoy this wood and respect that others like to walk here. Take all your rubbish home with you and pick up after any dog. Leave only footprints and take only memories.
This cache contains some plastic, jointed snakes as well as some snake colouring sheets and a snake mask for you to make in a black officially marked geocache box along with the log and some pencils for signing.
Please do not disturb any of the stacks of felled trees - the cache is not in these and they may be dangerous.
