Kamenice se nalaze nedaleko od centra grada Komiže. Do ove prekrasne plaže može se doći autom ili pješice.
Plaža Kamenica je jedina plaža u Komiži vulkanskog postanka. Njene vulkanske stijene stare su 220 milijuna godina. To ih čini najstarijim stijenama na Jadranu. Prirodno je bila puno manja, dok je današnji izgled poprimila nasipavanjem građevinskog materijala koji je ostao od gradnje Hotela Biševo. Na plaži se nalaze i izvori vode po kojima je dobila ime.
Zahvaljujući vulkanskim i dijapirskim stijenama, cijeli otok Vis ima isključivo svoju vodu. To ga čini jedinim otokom na Jadranu uz otok Cres koji ima svoju pitku vodu.
Ova plaža ima i svoju povijesnu važnost. Na ovoj plaži u 12. stoljeću iskrcao se Papa Aleksandar III kako bi svoje galije opskrbio vodom.
Plaža je idealna za kupanje obitelji s djecom.

Kamenica Beach is the only volcanic origin beach in Komiža. Its volcanic rocks are 220 million years old. This makes them the oldest rock in the Adriatic. Naturally, it was much smaller, while today's appearance took when the building material that remained from the construction of Hotel Biševo was silting on the beach. On the beach there are also water springs from which the beach was named.
Thanks to volcanic and dijapiric rocks, the entire island of Vis has its own water. This makes it the only island in the Adriatic except the island of Cres that has its own drinking water.
