Join The Wandle Trust in Earlsfield to clear rubbish and invasive species from the River Wandle
Following the success of April's CITO at Carshalton (GC83T4D), it's time to don your waders again and join the volunteers from the Wandle Trust in the River Wandle to see how much junk you can find.
Location: Ravensbury Terrace, Earlsfield. Postcode SW18 4RL.
Activity: you will be joining a team of friendly volunteers to find and remove rubbish from the river. If you don't have your own waders, you can borrow a pair from the Wandle Trust and get in the river, or help pull up rubbish onto the banks and move it to a pile nearby for the council to collect. You can read more about Wandle Trust cleanups on their blog at https://www.wandletrust.org/
Notes: Tea, coffee and cake are provided but please bring your own lunch. If you're not planning on getting in the water please wear sturdy shoes as the banks can be slippery. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather and choose old clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
Public transport is available by train to Earlsfield station (Waterloo-Wimbledon line, plenty of trains), and by various buses, including connections to Wandsworth Town (National Rail) and Tooting Broadway (Northern Line).
Free parking can be found in the surrounding streets.
