Geocache Description:

Leiston Town Multi-Cache

This is a relatively short Multi-Cache, that can easily be completed in less than an hour.

You will need to visit five locations to gather the answers to our questions, in order to obtain the co-ordinates for the physical cache which is hidden nearby.

We recommend that you visit them in numerical order, in order to be closer to the final cache once you have all the clues.

The final cache is concealed at N52 12.AEB E001 34.DEC

This is a small click & seal box with room for a few small swappables or a travelbug.

Stage 1 is a Supermarket Car Park. There is no clue here, but you can park here free for 2 hours and there are toilet facilities, a cafe and a Sandwich shop within the store. Alternatively pay & display parking is available either opposite 100 High Street or on the corner of Crown Street & Sizewell Road.

Stage 2 is the United Reform Church. Look on the corner of the building for a foundation stone. It was laid by the Mayor of Ipswich, E. Goddard Esq on the X1 August 1866. X=A

Stage 3 is the brass plaque on the wall of the council offices. It lists the men who gave their lives in World War II serving for the 357th Fighter Group of the USAF, based at Leiston Airfield. Among these is Captain James W Browning, "Gentleman Jim", who was killed in action flying a P51 Mustang Fighter over Germany on the 9th February 1945. James's name is in the left hand column. His name is Xth in the list (counting from the top down). X=B

Stage 4 is just across the road at Leiston Long Shop Museum. Look through the railings into the garden. You will see a bridge beam that was made here at the Richard Garrett Works. The beam has a date cast into it. 18X8 where X=C

Stage 5 is a small metal sign on the wall on the corner of Main Street and Park Hill. The sign mentions that Leiston Abbey has been silhouetted against the Suffolk sky since 1X82. X=D

Stage 6 is the Recreation Ground Gates. The gates were erected in 193X. X=E

You now have all of the co-ordinates to find the final cache. It is hidden just a few minutes from where you are. Good Luck!!!
