It has sheltered Native American coastal tribes, welcomed English Lords Proprietor, witnessed the outdoor recreation of wealthy sportsman, seen theconstruction of Daniel's Landing and been a source of wonder and awe to Daniel's Landing residents. With a circumfrance of 24' 9 " and a canopy spanning 100' , it is one of the largest single-trunked live oaks in the lowcountry. The tree sits on the land that was once part of Robert Daniel's Plantation.
