This little series will take you up well worn tracks onto open access land around Clint Quarries. You'll come across sheep, maybe cows and higher up plenty of rabbits. You'll also see many types of birds but you probably won't meet a soul, The cache is just off the track, near a stone dedicated to Pop Armstrong 1908-1979. I believe this was a local landowner but have been unable to find out more. Important Notes: Please respect the rules of access. You “have the right to wander freely”, says the government but there are certain restrictions. The route is not on a right of way as such. The rules say: You must keep your dog on a lead no more than 2 metres long on open access land: • between 1 March and 31 July - to protect ground-nesting birds • at all times around livestock As this is a grouse moor, there will be additional restrictions, particularly for dog owners, at certain times of year. Tweezers or a pin may be needed to extract the log.
