Geocache Description:

Jeronima i 1554. godina). Izvorno je crkva imala tri oltara: veliki, posvećen sv. Mariji i sv. Jeronimu sa slikom, s lijeve strane oltar sv. Franje sa slikom i velikim raspelom, a s desne Bezgrješnoga začeća sa starom slikom. Zadarski trgovac Petar pok. Ivanom). Fra Ljudevit Benčić je 1848. dodao dva oltara i svima promijenio titulare. Tri su mramorna: glavni (pala sv. Duje i Gospe od škapulara), "duša" (slika bl. Gospe i sv. Bonaventure) i Bezgrješnoga začeća (slika Bl. Gospe i dispute o Bezgrješnom začeću) te dva drvena: sv. Antuna Padovanskog i sv. Sebastijana. Drveni oltari su maknuti, a oltarne slike smještene u samostan. Grobovi stanovnika mještana su u crkvi od 1569. Nadgrobne ploče nose oznake nacionalne pripadnosti (starohrvatski i dalmatinski grbovi, polumjesec i zvijezda) i zanimanja (mač, kubura).

(EN) Franciscan monastery of St. Dujma with a church built in the Gothic style in 1392 is located in Kraj on the island of Pasman. The dimensions of the monastery are: 38.3 m long and 35.4 m wide.
The monastery and the church were built by a patrician family in a place donated by the Benedictines from Cokovac. Church of St. Dujma is mentioned on April 8, 1370 in a will by which Mavro pok. Frana Grisogono determines the construction of the present. On June 22, 1384, his mother Pelegrina arranged for the church to be built with Juraj Miljanovic of Dubrovnik, and on August 19, 1389, he granted estates to the Franciscans expelled from Bosnia (mentioned in the census of the monasteries of the province of Sclavonia in 1382) and on May 22, 1392 ordered that a monastery be erected. . The construction of the monastery probably began in 1394 and was operational in the second half of the 15th century. The monastery was later rebuilt in the Baroque style during the 17th century, when the courtyard door of the monastery (1669) dates back.
The original church was enlarged in 1401. The Renaissance form is from before 1554 (on the gable of the portal is the Renaissance sculpture of Alesius of St. Jerome and 1554). Originally the church had three altars: a large one, dedicated to St. Mary and St. Jerome with a picture on the left side of the altar of St. Francis with the image and the great crucifixion, and on the right the Immaculate Conception with the old image. Zadar merchant Petar pok. Cvitka orders a painting worth 32 ducats to be made on November 6, 1418 (probably a painting of the Virgin Mary with little Christ and St. John). Br. Ljudevit Benčić added two altars in 1848 and changed the titles to all. Three are marble: the main (the fallen of St. Duje and Our Lady of the Scapulars), the "soul" (the image of Blessed Virgin and St. Bonaventure) and the Immaculate Conception (the image of the Blessed Virgin and the dispute about the Immaculate Conception) and two wooden ones: St. St. Anthony of Padua and Sts. Sebastian. Wooden altars were removed and altar paintings were placed in the monastery. The tombs of the inhabitants have been inhabited by the church since 1569. The tombstones bear nationality insignia (ancient Croatian and Dalmatian coats of arms, crescent and star) and occupations (sword, holster). The presbytery and the sacristy are covered with tiles in 1912. The current wooden ceiling is from 1959.
Particularly valuable are the monastery cloister, paintings of the Virgin Mary with little Jesus from the 15th century. and the Last Supper in the Monastery Dining Room The cloister is the oldest tomb from 1569, so the cloister was probably built after the church was enlarged (first half of the 16th century). It is simple and small, with arches and white stone columns.
The monastery also has a museum with exhibits that tell the history of the island of Pašman with a set exhibition of books and manuscripts, works of art, church utensils and garments, handicrafts and archeological relics. The monastery provides a place for rest for Catholic organizations and charitable institutions.
