Blaze is located along the Erie Canal trail with parking about .2 miles away, There is a pull-off (muddy some of the time) very near the trailhead on Peru Rd. Beware of thorny trees and possible poison ivy, also the ever-present vermin (i.e. ticks). This is a very approriate container for a dog. Please rehide as well as or better than you find it since it will be prone to muggling, given its location. There is a new TB located within for starting on its way. IT WOULD BE VERY CONSIDERATE TO LEAVE THE FTF FOR ONE OF THE LOCALS!
Blaze is my pitbull-lab mix, 9 years old, whom I found abandoned in the Homer Cemetery, with his sister, Tipper (the cache just down the trail), while I was caching. They were about 5 to 6 months old. Blaze is a real sweetie. Unfortunately, he has some special needs. He developed seizures when he was about a year old, and, last year, after a failed surgery to correct cruciate ligament problems, had his left hind leg amputated. He now needs all sorts of help and equipment to get around.
