Geocache Description:

Classic ammo can by tree. Easy cache. Remember to stay on the trail until close to the cache. Please don't take the pen: You are welcome to bring a trinket to trade with a treasure from inside the can! DO NOT put in any liquids (drinks, sanitizer, lighters), perishables (food), or nature items FROM THE PARK(acorns, rocks, etc.). When you are done with the cache, make sure you seal each Ziploc and the ammo can COMPLETELY. Make sure the ammo can is left standing upright so no water gets in.

Don't have phone service in the park? Cooper Lake State Park has loaner GPS units available at the South Sulphur Unit in the front office with Geocaches already downloaded for your convenience. From the open parking at the end of Eagle Point loop, take the trail toward the fishing pier. The trail splits: south to the pier or west, then looping back. The cache is an ammo can located on the trail going west in the loop behind a tree in a small thicket. It camouflages pretty well, so it's time to sharpen those eagle eyes. There used to be an amazing pier here, but it got taken by the flooding. The fish are still biting, so you can fish after finding your cache! The hike from the parking lot to this cache and back is about .2 miles and walking will take about 6 minutes. Please put the cache back as you found it (or better than you found it, if not sealed or hidden properly) and respect our Leave No Trace policy by leaving all the wildlife as you found it. We love when our visitors take the initiative to help keep our trails clean: if you got what it takes, bring a trash baggie with you. If you see that the cache needs some love or that the trinkets are running low, shoot us a message. Don't forget to log your cache and leave us a comment. Happy caching!

Respect our campers: No activities allowed after 10pm in park. Rules and regulations of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department can be found here: https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/parks/park-rules
