The Sandel Legacy Trail is one of the three segments of the Ohio to Erie Trail administered by the Preservation Parks. When completed, the Delaware County section of the Ohio to Erie Trail will provide a continuous route running northeast from Westerville to the Licking County line. The Ohio to Erie Trail will ultimately extend about 320 miles from Cincinnati to Cleveland.
Park at the old depot and bike or hike the paved path to the cache. Dogs must be on a leash.
Northern Woodlands Magazine says that the computer model calculates that a hardwood tree will take 46 to 71 years to completely decompose. I’d say the tree at ground zero is more than half way through this process.
